Tacta Single-Channel Variable Volume Mechanical Pipettors

Tacta® is Sartorius's premium mechanical pipette: light in the hand, easy to read and accurate across eight volume ranges from 0.1 µL to 10 mL.

How to Choose

• Pick by volume: choose the model whose range covers the volumes you pipette most. Accuracy is best in the upper part of the range, and ISO 8655 doesn't recommend working below 10% of a pipette's maximum volume.
• Match the tips by colour: the push-button colour tells you which Optifit tips to use: grey for 0.1–3 µL and 0.5–10 µL, yellow for 2–20, 10–100 and 20–200 µL, blue for 100–1,000 µL, green for 500–5,000 µL and red for 1–10 mL.
• Filling plates?: see the Tacta 8- and 12-channel pipettes.
• Equipping a new bench?: Tacta multipacks bundle 3 to 5 pipettes with tips and a stand.

Reading the Comparison Table

• Volume range: the smallest and largest volume the pipette can be set to, in µL (1,000 µL = 1 mL)
• Increments: the smallest step you can change the volume by
• Accuracy: how close the average delivered volume is to the volume you set, at the pipette's maximum volume; lower is better
• Precision: how closely repeated deliveries match each other, at the maximum volume; lower is better
• Colour-code tip-tray: the colour of the pipette's push button, which matches the tray colour of its Optifit tips

Accuracy and precision are Sartorius's ISO 8655 limits, measured with Optifit non-sterile tips.

Compatible Optifit tips are listed under Parts and Accessories, and the Tacta datasheet and operating instructions are under Documentation. Safe-Cone filters keep liquid and aerosols out of the pipette: use them with non-filter tips (never with filter tips) and replace them daily or after any over-aspiration.
