Proline Plus Multi-Channel Variable Volume Mechanical Pipettors

Proline® Plus multichannel pipettes bring Sartorius's durable mechanical design to microplate work, with Optiload spring-loaded tip cones that load and seal every tip evenly.

How to Choose

• 8 or 12 channels: on a standard 96-well plate, an 8-channel pipette fills one column (8 wells) and a 12-channel pipette fills one row (12 wells).
• Pick by volume: both come in 1–10 µL, 10–100 µL and 30–300 µL; accuracy is best in the upper part of the range.
• Match the tips by colour: grey for 1–10 µL, yellow for 10–100 µL and orange for 30–300 µL.
• Need single-channel too?: see the adjustable single-channel models or the Proline Plus 3+1-Pack, which adds a 30–300 µL 8-channel to three single-channel pipettes.

Sartorius now specifies the 10 µL models from 10% of their maximum volume (1 µL), in line with ISO 8655. Older listings may show 0.5–10 µL for the same pipettes.

Reading the Comparison Table

• No. of Channels: 8 or 12 tips filled at once
• Volume Range: the smallest and largest volume the pipette can be set to
• Increments: the smallest step you can change the volume by
• Accuracy: how close the average delivered volume is to the set volume, at the maximum volume; lower is better
• Precision: how closely repeated deliveries match each other, at the maximum volume; lower is better
• Colour-code tip-tray: the push-button colour, matching the tray colour of its Optifit tips

Accuracy and precision are Sartorius's ISO 8655 limits, measured with Optifit non-sterile tips.

Tips, Filters and Documents

Each pipette's Safe-Cone filter and compatible Optifit tips are listed under Parts and Accessories; the filter size for each model is also on its product page. Safe-Cone filters keep liquid and aerosols out of the pipette: use them with non-filter tips, and replace them regularly and after any over-aspiration.
